Playmates' SDCC 2026 TMNT Exclusives: Platinum Shell Blind Boxes and a Snake Eyes x Leonardo Crossover
UCC Distributing has revealed its San Diego Comic-Con 2026 lineup, and two of the exclusives on its Booth 5613 slate are Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sets made with Playmates Toys. The reveal, posted July 14 on the San Diego Comic-Con Unofficial Blog and corroborated by NickALive, covers a Platinum Shell Collection of blind-boxed metallic Turtle statues and a TMNT x G.I. Joe crossover figure set. SDCC runs Wednesday, July 22 through Sunday, July 26.
The headliner for TMNT collectors is the Platinum Shell Collection, an all-new blind-box line of mystery metallic Turtle statues. Each box holds one of the four brothers, Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo or Raphael, cast in one of three metallic finishes. Green is the common pull, silver is the rarer variant, and gold is the ultra-rare chase, for a total of 12 possible variants across the assortment. Playmates’ promotional art lists the pieces as roughly 3-inch mystery metallic statues, and each one ships in a graffiti-covered box styled after the Turtles’ sewer roots. UCC’s own announcement did not confirm a price at reveal; the SDCC Unofficial Blog’s listing shows the Platinum Shell figures at 29.99 dollars each, which is not yet official.
The second Turtles item is the TMNT x G.I. Joe Snake Eyes x Leonardo Figure Set, priced at 39.99 dollars. It is part of the wider Playmates and Hasbro crossover between the two brands, pairing the Turtles’ blue-banded leader with the silent G.I. Joe commando. Booth 5613 exclusives require a lottery win through SDCC’s Online Exclusives portal, though UCC has historically opened its booth to walk-ups later in the day.
The timing matters for anyone tracking the toy aisle. Playmates has held the TMNT master toy license for decades, but Mattel takes over the master license with product arriving in 2027, which puts Playmates into the final stretch of its run with the brand. That makes convention-only sets like these among the last Playmates-made TMNT collectibles to debut at a major show. Collectors following the handover can read the full picture on our Mattel TMNT toy license hub, and brush up on the brothers themselves on the Leonardo and Raphael character pages.
