1990 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
The first live-action film, with creature suits built by Jim Henson's Creature Shop. April O'Neil and Casey Jones help the Turtles and Splinter take on the Foot Clan and the Shredder. Darker and closer to the Mirage comics than the cartoon, it became the highest-grossing independent film of its time.
1991 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze
A lighter, kid-friendlier sequel. The Turtles hunt the last canister of the mutagen that created them while the Shredder uses it to spawn Tokka and Rahzar. Features Vanilla Ice's 'Ninja Rap' and a softer tone made at the studio's request.
1993 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III
A magic scepter sends the Turtles back to feudal Japan in 1603, swapping places with four samurai while April is pulled into the past. The weakest performer of the original trilogy, hampered by aging animatronics.
2007 TMNT
A fully CGI revival set after the original film trilogy. With the team fractured, Leonardo returns from training abroad to find Raphael moonlighting as the vigilante Nightwatcher, as an immortal industrialist and ancient monsters threaten the city. Mako's final film role as Splinter.
2014 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
A motion-capture reboot produced by Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes. Megan Fox plays April O'Neil opposite hulking, performance-captured Turtles and a heavily armored Shredder. Critically panned but a major commercial hit that launched a new continuity.
2016 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows
The 2014 sequel leans into the cartoon's roster, introducing Bebop, Rocksteady, Casey Jones, Baxter Stockman, Krang and the Technodrome. Better received by fans than its predecessor but a box-office disappointment that stalled the live-action series.
2022 Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie
A feature continuation of the 2018 Rise series. A time-traveling Casey Jones arrives from a future devastated by the alien Krang, sending the Turtles into a desperate fight to stop the invasion before it begins. A stylish send-off for the Rise incarnation.
2023 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem
A bold, sketchbook-styled animated reboot produced by Seth Rogen's Point Grey, voiced by actual teenagers. The Turtles team up with April to stop Superfly and his gang of mutants. A critical and commercial hit that relaunched the brand.
