Splinter & Sons, the TMNT: Splintered Fate bodega pop-up, is open on Second Avenue until Sunday

Splinter & Sons, a free bodega pop-up for the video game TMNT: Splintered Fate, opens today, Friday, October 9, at 130 2nd Avenue in Manhattan, and runs through Sunday, October 11. It is across town from the Javits Center, and it is set for the same weekend as New York Comic Con.

Bleeding Cool reports that Paramount is behind the shop and that the game’s developer is Super Evil Megacorp. The offer is exclusive merchandise marking the game’s conclusion and The King’s Gambit, with a limited-edition art print and a T-shirt named. A separate listing on NYC for FREE gives the hours as noon to 10 PM each day, adds video games to play and photo ops, and agrees on the address and the dates. Bleeding Cool says the merch will be gone by Monday. Neither source gives a price or an edition size for the print.

Both sources tie it to the show weekend rather than to the convention itself, and we have not seen Paramount’s own announcement, so we cannot tell you whether it is billed as an official NYCC event. We have not found a tie-in to a figure or a comic.

Why it matters to a Turtles fan

Most of our NYCC hub is about plastic and paper: Mezco at booth 1253, the IDW panel, the Super7 session. This is the one place on the list where you can walk in off the street without a badge, which is a rare thing to be able to say about a convention weekend.
