Mezco's One:12 Foot Soldiers come three to a box at $225, with a turtle shell biter in it

Mezco opened orders today on the One:12 Collective Foot Soldiers Army Builder Set, three figures to a box at $225.00 [1]. Each Foot Soldier stands about 17cm on a body Mezco lists at over 30 points of articulation, with hand-painted detailing. Eight interchangeable hands come with each of them, 24 in the box. The costume is fabric: a hood and face covering, a layered tunic, a waist sash, arm and leg wraps, and a removable cloak.

Mezco lays the armoury out on a parts card of its own, in more detail than the written features list gives. The card shows a ninjato, a shinobigatana, a naginata, a kunai rope dart and a sansetsukon, a single example of each with no quantity printed against them, alongside two tekko-kagi, a tanto, a kogatana, four shuriken and three display bases. The sixth pole-and-blade weapon on that card is a turtle shell biter, a bronze clamp with a hinged, toothed jaw on the end of a long pole. Somebody at Mezco sat down and designed that!

Mezco counts the hands twice, per figure and in total, and it gives the weapons no per-figure or per-set wording at all [2]. So a buyer cannot tell from the card whether one naginata means one for the squad or one apiece.

How it was sold

The set is a Mezco store exclusive, and the listing says plainly that it will not be for sale at New York Comic Con 2026. There is no single and no larger pack. A preorder carries a non-refundable deposit of $40.00 per item, charged within 48 hours, all sales are final, and delivery needs a signature.

Graphic Policy published its write-up at 13:25 Eastern with the set up for order, and at 17:20 Eastern the button on Mezco’s own page read JOIN WAITLIST. Neither the listing nor Mezco’s own note says when the window opened, how long it ran or how many sets were made, and the listing carries no ship date at all.

The waitlist is free and takes no deposit, but Mezco’s note beside it is careful about what it is: a waitlist order is not a guaranteed order, it opens after select preorder items sell out, and it exists so you can be told if the item comes back because somebody cancelled. BigBadToyStore was searched this evening and returns nothing at all for the Foot Soldiers.

What you can order tonight

Shredder, Splinter and both One:12 Turtles boxed sets are open, which matters most to anyone who meant the Foot Soldiers to be their way into the scale. Read at BigBadToyStore this evening: the One:12 Collective Shredder at $124.99 and Splinter at $116.00, and two boxed sets at $350.00 each, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990) set and the Comics Deluxe set. All four are preorders with a live add to cart. Casey Jones is the one gap, at $129.99 and sold out, carrying a waitlist button of his own [3].

Shredder is the one we would take if we were only taking one. He commands the Foot, and he is the figure Mezco photographed alongside the three soldiers in the brawl shot below; Splinter is cheaper, but he is not the one they answer to.

An army builder that comes in one size

The Foot Soldiers of the 1987 cartoon are robots built by the Technodrome, and our own encyclopedia entry files them as an endlessly expendable army and puts the reason plainly: being machines is what let the Turtles smash them by the dozen without the show losing its family-friendly rating. That entry also records that on screen they usually carry blasters, not the traditional ninja weapons this box is full of.

So Mezco has taken the most replaceable character in the series and made it hand-painted, cloth-dressed, individually posed in every promotional shot, and sold in a single quantity. It is a good-looking reinvention of a design that was drawn to be forgettable. It went off order the same day it appeared.

[2] The written features list reads “Eight (8) interchangeable hands per figure” and “24 interchangeable hands total”, and the parts card shows eight hand sculpts and captions them “EIGHT INTERCHANGEABLE HANDS” against a row of three figures. Those two agree. The accessories block below them carries no wording of that kind at all, and the card prints “FOUR SHURIKEN” and no quantity beside any of the six pole-and-blade weapons, so whether one naginata means one for the set or one for each figure is not something Mezco’s page answers.
