Iron Studios

Iron Studios revealed the ThunderCats line in late January 2020 at the Sao Paulo studio's annual partner showcase, opening with the WilyKit and WilyKat double figure and rolling out the rest of the heroes over the following two weeks. The pitch was their BDS, or Battle Diorama Series, format: every piece built at 1/10 Art Scale on a base segment that physically connects to the segments either side, so collectors assembling the full line end up with one continuous Third Earth diorama running across the shelf. The heroes wave (Lion-O & Snarf, Cheetara, Tygra, Panthro, WilyKit & WilyKat) priced $129.99 to $239.99 with LED bases for Lion-O and the WilyKit/WilyKat plinth. The villains wave followed at CCXP Worlds 2021 (Mumm-Ra Ever-Living, Slithe, Monkian, Jackalman, Vultureman and Ma-Mutt at $99.99 to $229.99). In 2024 Iron Studios filled the obvious gap with two Mumm-Ra Decayed Form variants: the standard release at $149.99 and a deluxe variant at $249.99 with a larger Black Pyramid tomb base. Every piece is polystone, hand-painted, limited edition, sculpted in Brazil by the Iron Studios in-house team.
